Our Commitment

The Inter-American Defense College Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2004 to solicit donations and increase awareness of the Inter-American Defense College (IADC). It raises funds towards promoting excellence among faculty and students through scholarships, supporting development of research and other unfunded projects.

What Is The IADC?

The Inter-American Defense College educates senior officials of member and observer nations of the Organization of American States through a rigorous, year-long academic program focused on Hemispheric Defense and Regional Security in the Western Hemisphere. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2012, over 2500 students from 24 member nations have completed the postgraduate Advanced

Course on Hemispheric Security and Defense. The IADC’s multinational, multilingual student body builds lifelong professional partnerships among colleagues representing diverse organizations throughout the hemisphere.

Programs We Support

Our mission is to raise and distribute funds to support the IADC’s mission and enhance the educational experience of the students beyond programmed funding in three areas:

Scholarship Program: Expands the current college demographic to enable previously under-represented sectors and fiscally challenged applicants from OAS member countries to attend the IADC.

Academic Endowment Fund: Directs funds from the general fund to address the incorporation of visiting professors, distinguished speakers, tertulias and special events.
