Virgilio Reyes, the first Executive Director of the Inter-American Defense College Foundation and a founding member in 2004 has dedicated his career to the College. As a former Staff Member for Classes 40, 41, and 42, CAPT Reyes’s participation in the College’s accreditation process before the MSCHE and ASICS, as well as his service as Registrar for more than twenty years, testify to his unwavering commitment.
Virgilio Reyes’ return to serve the College in its efforts to maintain its competitive advantage in the demanding environment of international organizations is of significant importance. He firmly believes in the pivotal role of the foundation’s board of directors in seeking and channeling significant financial contributions that may allow the College to enjoy a margin of excellence that it probably would not be able to achieve within the restricted limits of its regular budget.
Virgilio Reyes, a retired Navy Captain of the Venezuelan Navy, brings a wealth of unique qualifications to his role. He completed the Advanced Staff Course for international Senior Naval Officers at the Naval War College, Newport, RI, and the Advanced Management Program at the IESA Business School, Caracas, Venezuela. His experience as Deputy Chief of Studies at the Inter-American Defense College and his Master of International Service from the American University, Washington DC, further demonstrate his expertise and competence.
