Julio Hang is the esteemed Director of the Institute for International Security and Strategic Affairs (ISIAE) at the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI), where he has served with distinction for over 18 years. His extensive career spans over five decades and has contributed to international security, strategic affairs, and defense.
Julio Hang has held prominent roles in several prestigious organizations and has demonstrated leadership and influence. Since 2003, he has been the Director of the International Security Observatory at the Chamber of Exporters of the Argentine Republic (CERA), where his insights and guidance have shaped international security policies for over two decades. His role as a Board Member of the IADC Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting the academic programs of the Inter-American Defense College (IADC), further underscores his leadership in the field.
A visiting scholar at the National Defense University’s Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies since 2011, Julio is also a passionate educator. He has been a professor at the Foundation for Non-Proliferation and International Security (NPS Global) since 2012, where he teaches courses on international security.
Earlier in his career, Julio held the rank of General de División in the Argentine Army, serving 38 years. His distinguished military service includes key leadership roles such as Commander of the Third Army Corps and Chief of the Military House of the Argentine Presidency.
